Genealogy conferences and seminars are a great way to sharpen research skills, learn about new tech innovations for genealogy, and network with other researchers.

Check your local genealogy society’s calendar for regular speakers and webinars, but try to attend regional and national conferences as well. Here are some upcoming opportunities for April 2016:

  • 7-8 April:  Who Do You Think You Are?-Live.  Birmingham, England. Now’s a perfect time to take that trip to England!  Attend this live event with expert help in researching your UK family history.
  • 9-10 April: Armenian Genealogy Conference.  Watertown, Massachusetts. The conference is co-sponsored by the National Association for Armenian Studies and Research (NAASR), Project Save Armenian Photograph Archives, Inc., Houshamadyan, the Armenian Museum of America (AMA), and Hamazkayin Boston.
  • 16 April: The Indiana Genealogical Society Annual Meeting and Conference.  Allen County Public Library (Fort Wayne, Ind.) and will feature guest speakers Jeanne Larzalere Bloom, CG, and Jen Baldwin.
  • 23 April: The UGA 2016 South Davis Family History Fair. Woods Cross, Utah. This annual conference is in its 19th year, and is sponsored by the Utah Genealogical Association. Keynote speaker is Clive Romney.
  • 28-20 April: Ohio Genealogical Society Annual Conference. Mason, Ohio.  “Tracking Your Ancestors” is a three-day event featuring 86 lectures and several workshops.
