Recent attendees of the recent Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy were treated to bonus classes at the Family History Library, thanks to ICAPGen. Each participant had the option to sign up for two of ten “Night at the Family History Library” classes offered on Wednesday evening of the Institute, each taught by an outstanding Accredited Genealogist® professional.

S.L.I.G. was attended by close to 450 experienced genealogists from all over the United States, each participating in one of fourteen different “tracks.” It was an intensive week of learning at S.L.I.G., but all ten classes at the “Night at the Family History Library” were filled to capacity, and attendees were also treated to refreshments between sessions.

We would like to thank the instructors from among our ranks who gave of their time and talents to make this night a huge success:

  • Baerbel Johnsen, AG® – Online Resources for finding German Ancestors (two classes)
  • David Ouimette, AG – From Archival Priorities to Record Hints: How FamilySearch Produces Billions of Searchable Records
  • Beth Taylor, AG – Online Detecting 201: Pursuing Misspelled Mislabeled, and Missing Ancestors in Online Record Collections (two classes)
